Our History

The Artesia General Hospital Foundation was officially established in 2018 as a 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to supporting the hospital, its patients, and the surrounding community.

The foundation’s roots trace back to the efforts of a dedicated hospital advocate who recognized the need for additional resources to help the hospital grow and better serve the community’s healthcare needs. With the support of the New Mexico Community Foundation, the Artesia General Hospital Fund was created, initially focusing on raising money for employee scholarships and establishing a permanent fund.

As the fund grew, so did its impact, leading to the formal establishment of the Artesia General Hospital Foundation. Since then, the foundation has remained committed to enhancing the quality of life and wellness in the community. Through fundraising efforts and grants, it has provided vital support for hospital initiatives, including scholarships for employees in various departments and, career development through our Advanced Learning Center and more recently, securing funding to establish a women’s clinic.

The foundation continues to play a crucial role in advancing healthcare services and ensuring a healthier future for the community.
