Exhibition Statement
Where Light Gathers
This exhibition brings together two distinct artistic voices in a shared exploration of place, presence, and meaning.
Through expressive landscapes, Kirsten Mauritsen captures the quiet beauty of the natural world—paths, stone, water, and sky—inviting us to slow down and see what is before us.
In contrast, Wend Boomhower’s work moves beyond the visible, layering pattern, symbolism, and form to suggest the deeper structures that connect us all.
Together, their work reflects both the seen and the unseen—the physical and the spiritual—revealing light not only as it falls across the land, but as it gathers within it.
The partnership between these talented artists and the AGH Foundation reflects a shared commitment to strengthening our community. A portion of the proceeds (20%) from each purchase will benefit the Artesia General Hospital Foundation, helping to continue its important work in supporting Artesia General Hospital and serving the healthcare needs of communities across the region.

Days of Creation is a seven-piece series created in Wendy’s signature SacreNouveau style — a richly symbolic visual language that blends sacred geometry, illuminated ornamentation, cultural motifs, and contemporary spiritual expression. Inspired by the biblical account of creation, each artwork reflects a divine stage in the unfolding of life and order: from the birth of light and cosmic balance to the emergence of nature, celestial rhythms, living creatures, and humanity itself. Through intricate pattern, radiant color, and layered symbolism, the collection invites viewers into a contemplative journey that celebrates creation as both universal and deeply sacred.

Adobe Garden Poppies
n Adobe Garden Poppies, the delicate nature of fine art tissue paper mirrors the fragile, transient beauty of a poppy in bloom. By meticulously layering and wrinkling the paper, the artwork achieves a rich, tactile depth that mimics the natural folds of real petals. It is a celebration of texture, color, and the resilient beauty found within a garden sanctuary.

Meadow and Mountain

The ‘windows’ contain the view of Clements Mountain, painted with the same vibrant intensity the meadow evokes.
